Our Story
Nalomba began with a broken gaming controller and a hefty repair bill. One of our founders had been struggling with stick drift on his gaming controller and was shocked when repair shops quoted an eye-watering amount to fix the issue. Determined to solve the problem himself, he searched for a soldering kit to hire—only to discover that no viable rental options existed. Purchasing a quality soldering station for a once-off repair seemed equally wasteful.
During a conversation with a friend who shared similar frustrations about accessing equipment for DIY projects, they realised a fundamental truth: countless people own specialised tools and equipment that sit unused most of the time, while others desperately need these same items for temporary use. What if they could connect these two groups?
Our platform is built specifically for the South African context, addressing local challenges and opportunities while fostering a culture of trust, sustainability, and community.
